There are times that your gifts are not enough to fill the basket. Since you are saving, you are limiting the number of gifts. But that will make your basket look bad since you are not filling them enough. The rule of thumb in creating a gift basket is to make something that will look full.

Some will be really cheap by adding stockings. Although that will make your basket look full, you certainly didn’t satisfy the recipient unless they are asking for a basket full of stockings.

What you need to add are small gifts such as candies and chocolates and distribute them evenly in the space of the basket. These fillers will be perfect as dessert as the family enjoys what you have to offer to them.

Aside from the fillers, you might also want to place the gifts in individual bags. By placing them individually in a bag, you will be able to secure the gifts and will never be affected by other gifts in the basket. This is highly recommended when each of your gifts have a distinct smell or could be affected by your fillers.

But there are inevitable moments when you really have to buy. This is still ok but you just have to make sure that you are buying something special.

Through customization you will be able to add, remove or replace anything in the gift basket without additional price. This is possible when you are dealing with local shops wherein you can personally talk to the owner or the owner will personally assist you in customizing your gift basket.

There are also shops that have practices that you should prefer. There are shops that will sell you packed Christmas gift baskets and there are also shops that offer you gift baskets that could be customized. The pre-packed Christmas gift baskets are cheaper but they will never do you any good. Always go with a shop that will let you customize your gift bag and they will just wrap the bag later. You might to spending more but the difference is not that much so it’s a better idea to go with a shop that allows customization of gift baskets.

Making a Christmas gift basket will not require a lot of time but it will require creativity to make a good Christmas gift basket. Be sure to establish a theme and build on it so that you will have a good looking basket. When all else fails, you can always buy a gift basket from a shop but only go for those that will allow you to customize.
